ISES at The Gymnasium
For those of you who attended our November event, you will have been amongst the 150 people who enjoyed one of London's more unusual and stunning venues. ISES member David Wolankski, and owner of the-recipe, approached ISES VP Events Jacqui Partridge to propose that an introduction between ISES UK and The Gymnasium be made: a venue very close to his heart and one in particular that he thought may lend itself perfectly to the format of an ISES showcase and networking evening.
With the evening beginning downstairs in the cafe, directly in view of the newly opened St Pancras International Station, guests came in from the cold and were greeted with a glass of wine from our annual sponsors Revelstoke, delicious canopes created and served by the-recipe, and fresh scottish oysters opened and handed to them by one of two kilt wearing Oyster Boys! The main space upstairs saw the fantastic results of a collaboration between our annual sponsors Hawthorn's and Oxygen Events for the AV and creative lighting. Ed Thurstan from Eco Events demonstrated to guests how it had been made possible to run the lighting on a waste neutral format through just two standard 13amp sockets. We were delighted to welcome Stephen Moffett from SML Markting and Events on stage at this month's presentation to hear his views and advice on the power of modern event marketing with a focus on the return of Tutunkhamun to London. As a final ice-breaker before guests were thrown into a session of facilitated networking by president Mike Kershaw, two dancers took to the floor for a theatrical and contemporary take by Beau Production on pole dancing with a pole each on either side of the stage! Revolver Sounds then provided us with the soundtrack for the rest of the evening where guests could choose from an array of refreshing cocktails served by the Squeeze flair barmen from their sensational new circular illuminated bar; enjoy the more substantial and beautifully presented bowl food from the-recipe; or refine their taste buds at Revelstoke's wine tasting stand. Here's what some of you thought: 'It's a shame we had to catch a train back to Leeds so early - it looked like the night was taking shape nicely. 'Loved the venue and the table displays etc - looks like ises is moving forward!' 'Many thanks for the event last night - both James and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found it most useful. We would definitely like to join ISES once our rebrand has all gone through ... I look forward to seeing you at another event in the future when I shall be sure not drive - feel I really missed out on the cocktails!' Thank you again to all of our sponsors who contributed to this event. To view photos please follow the below link: username: ises The next event will be held at The Cuban in Camden on 3rd December. We look forward to seeing you all there! The Gymnasium Pancras Road London |
