Collaboration: ISES at West Ham Football Stadium
Date: From 30 Sep 2008 Time: From 18:30 to 21:30
The first event of the new ISES UK term was 'kicked off' in style at the breathtaking West Ham Football Stadium at Upton Park. With stadium-side views, an impressive spread of mouth watering food and drink supplied by our generous hosts at Compass Group and Revelstoke Wine, guests were also treated to massages by Energize You and the sultry sounds of a fantastic jazz duo provided by Studio Boardman.
After a presentation by Will Broome, there was a venue history tour of the stadium followed by facilitated networking upstairs in the Bobby Moore Suite with an impressive pitch-side view. In line with this month's theme of Collaboration not Competition, our new VP Events Emma Boardman introduced a creative element to the 'speed networking' format, that has been so successful in previous months. All attendees were asked to write themselves a new badge that summed up what they did: skill sets, job roles, and talents. The aim was to encourage everyone to 'get to know their neighbours' and find ways in which they could utilise one another and collaborate in the future. There was even a wandering graphologist on call who took 'defining your personal skills' to a fascinating new level by analysing our guest's handwriting!

Here's what our guests thought of the evening:
'many thanks for the invitation to the excellent event at West Ham. I can honestly say it was the best networking event I have event been to – and feel free to quote me on that!!' Christopher Milnes Event Integration
'I enjoyed the ISES event at West Ham and thought [Will's] talk was very insightful.' Tessa McCrudden Event Magazine
'I moved to London about 6 months ago from the States having been an active member of ISES of the New York Metro Chapter. Over that time I have attended many of the ISES UK events and found this one far superior in terms of the venue. Showcasing this kind of unique space is what I think ISES is all about.' Warren Coyle
'Just to say thank you so much for the tickets for the ISES Meeting, it was (as you'd expect!) very well run, and well thought out, and I met some fascinating people.' Elsa Tatavossian The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Ltd
'It is great to see ISES moving on and I thought that some of the ideas you put forward were great, especially the Euro Conference.
I also thought it was a very socialable event and seemed welcoming to all which is so important in the membership drive.'
