ISES Christmas Extravanganza at The House of St Barnabas
Date: From 16 Dec 2008 Time: From 6.30pm to 10.00pm
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas event this week at The House of St Barnabas, a fantastic and relatively hidden gem within its enviable location in the heart of Soho. An even bigger thank you goes to this month's sponsors who contributed so generously towards the success of a very memorable and unique event.
Coming in from the bleak mid winter air through the period chapel entrance, guests were greeted by our favourite host and hostesses from Espritwith badges by Outstand. The chapel was a fabulous Christmas spectacle with lighting and AV by Cue Media, Connection Crew, Sound By Design, and music by the stunning Stellini girls supplied by Sternberg Clarke. The house was open for all to explore with delicious food from Bubble Food, cocktails by the Cocktailstars, wine by Revelstoke and even a live video feed from the chapel to keep everyone involved in the action wherever they felt free to roam. Thank you to Nic and his team at Simply Flowers for coming along mid event to offer us additional floral decoration and festive decor! The Oyster Boys served up a real festive treat by teaming up with The Ice Box to run an oyster bar. Costumed with a Dickensian twist, the boys were on top form and were never without a crowd of eager spectators. This month we were excited to involve TV fashion oracle Julian Bennet of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to showcase the make-over concept to the events market. Footage of our very own ISES UK president Will Broome being styled by Julian, with the help of Pringle and Fernando from The Soho Salon, was played to the audience in an anticipation for the big live reveal!
The Soho Salon have also offered you all a fabulous Christmas treat with generous discount vouchers to use up in January.

We were delighted that Pippa Bagnall from the charity was able to say a few words about the work this venue does for the homeless. Further details of this wonderful cause can be found below as well as ways in which you too can contribute towards the amazing work that Pippa, Louisa and the team at The House of St Barnabas do throughout the year. With the theme of 'make-over' Pippa reminded us that we are all in a privileged position within the events industry to pull our resources together and make a difference. We can even have a fabulous party doing so! Thank you to Stick it On, the cool new interactive DJ booth, who took to the alter and got everyone in the festive spirit with a series of guest star DJs! Not only can you choose your favourite tunes but you can also feel like a superstar DJ for the night as Tim and Rob give you the necessary pointers and project your image to the floor on DJ Cam!
| ...and so we came to the end of a memorable night and an even more memorable year. |

| From all at ISES UK have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
See you in 2009! |
A real focal point in the life of London's Soho and the West End, the House of St Barnabas in Soho has been helping homeless people change their lives for over 160 years. Always at the forefront of meeting homeless people's needs, the House is in the process of changing from a residential hostel for homeless women to a state-of-the-art centre offering essential life skills, training, personal development and career paths for London's homeless people and those in crisis. During the event we will be selling raffle tickets for £50 for the fantastic chance to have full complimentary hire of the house for the event of your choice in 2009. All proceeds will go towards the charity to dig deep!
Just off Soho Square, the venue is right in the heart of Central London but come round to the Chapel entrance on Manette Street. The closest tube station is Tottenham Court Road for Northern or Central Line. For a map and directions please click here.
