The Next Big Thing at this year's ISES AGM and Summer Party!
Following the success of the Next Big Thing its back and bigger than before with two pre-qualifying heats planned ahead of Event UK on 22-23 September at the NEC Birmingham.
The first heat will take place alongside the ISES Summer Party and AGM on 21st July and will offer acts looking to break into the lucrative corporate entertainment and party scene their first chance to prove their worth. The second heat will be held at the Eventia Summer Party in August. “The Next Big Thing was Event UK’s most popular feature and underlined the creativity and energy of the show.” Comments Kate Disley, Group Marketing Manager for Event UK and VP Marketing for ISES UK. “We’re really excited about the heats, which we hope will provide a great talking point in the build up to Event UK. Partnering up with associations and their summer events was a natural progression for us as the competition is aimed at encouraging talent into the industry and offering event organisers added inspiration.” “The website for entrants to post their act has also now gone live and we will be updating our Next Big Thing Twitter page (@mayamhatre), as well as the Event UK website, with entries as they come in.” Last year’s winners The Red Bullets have gone on to great success following their win at the 2008 show. They are signed to Sternberg Clarke and performed at high profile events such as the Eventia Awards and the AEO Conference, which were closely followed by five confirmed corporate bookings for 2009. They then toured the French and Swiss Alps. Runners up of The Big Beat are also signed to Sternberg Clarke and secured a number of bookings, which was followed up with an electric performance at the Confex exhibitor party.
