‘Playing Politics –The Power of Partnerships and Legacies’
This year will see a general election in the UK and, as we begin to come out of the economic downturn, the ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter Winter Debate will focus on the importance of political lobbying and the benefit and legacy events can bring to cities and regions. Partnerships will be more important than ever and successful organisations will be those that plan and execute strategic alliances to support their business generation activities.
Delegates at the ICCA UK & Ireland Winter Debate will hear from speakers covering the following areas:
o Government lobbying at local and national level
o The role of agencies currently engaged in lobbying
o A knowledge of which resources are available to your organisation
o Examples of best practices and lessons from unsuccessful bidding
o Advice on preparing for a change in government
o The politically valuable legacy provided by events that bring benefit to a city or region
o The power of partnerships with providers of other services that support events
It is intended that the event will allow delegates to be better prepared and able to develop their own
strategic partnership and lobbying toolkit to help their business over the course of the next twelve months.
