A note from the President: April Newsletter

I can’t believe how fast my year as elected President of ISES UK is going and we still have so many exciting things to cram in before a new board, under the stewardship of President Elect Richard Foulkes, takes over in July. We will shortly be advertising the available 2010/11 positions, which will appeal to both those considering a Vice-President Board role and anybody wishing to have an involvement in ISES committees dedicated to Programmes, Education, Sponsorship and Student Development. |
If you’re passionate about your work in the UK events industry and would like to give something back in order to help the sector as a whole develop, then we’d love to hear from you. Keep an eye out for forthcoming notices or simply get in touch and we can discuss how you can best serve ISES and the UK events industry for the future. I have said this many times throughout the past year, but there really is no better time to get involved. One of the aspects of my tenure I’m most proud of is the implementation of a three-year ISES UK strategy, which includes working with Universities on the development of an Olympic volunteer scheme, better knowledge initiatives and greater member benefits. This strategy will take us up to and including 2012. It will be a pinnacle year for events professionals so working with the ISES UK Board now will give you a key role in the development of ISES UK into the Olympic year. If you’d like to discuss further the details of our three-year plan or you’d like to consider participating on the ISES UK Board, or you simply wish to network with ISES member peers during an enjoyable evening of entertainment, then I hope to see you at our next networking event on 29 April. We’ll be taking a sunset cruise along the river with Thames Executive Charters and hearing some great networking advice from our resident expert Andy Lopata. The boat leaves Festival Pier at 6.15 so don’t be late!
All the best,
Zanine Adams President ISES UK |
