A note from the President
07 Jun 2010

Zanine Adams As the ISES year draws to a close there is still much work to be done before the new Board takes over at our planned AGM on 15 July. Following the huge success of our inaugural ISES Talks event, we’re staging a second one, with the help of Evolve Events, on 21 June at Kent House in Knightsbridge. For anyone who missed the fascinating insight into Ford of Britain’s marketing and events strategy last month, this is your chance to come along and witness a new breed of ISES event and to hear from Chris Hughes, managing director at Brand Events, on how his company turned Top Gear into a live extravaganza that now has global appeal.

ISES UK is also delighted to be co-hosting the London Future Forum debate, which will kick-start the days proceedings to mark the opening of the second phase of ICC London Excel on 24 June. In partnership with the Mayor of London, ISES UK is inviting agency CEOs and directors to discuss London’s future plans to  further establish itself nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for business tourism events and we’ll be staging a networking evening the night before.

Here at ISES UK headquarters, we’re also supporting the formation of a Middle East chapter in Dubai. I was recently asked to judge the Middle East Event Awards and I was really impressed with the quality of activity and the creative talent that exists across the region. Find out the winners of these prestigious awards by clicking on the story below. It was a fabulous ceremony held at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel on 25 May and I’d like to thank my hosts for their support and for the opportunity for ISES UK to play its part.

Finally I’d also like to thank the ISES UK Board for a year’s worth of hard graft and creative input, which has seen your association grow from strength to strength. I really couldn’t have got through this year without both their incredible support and the talents of our newly promoted operations director Stephanie Laing so a massive thank-you to her. I’m thrilled that some of the Board are staying on to continue shaping the association under the stewardship of incoming President Richard Foulkes from Imagination and I’m really looking forward to seeing many of the plans we’ve put in place flourish over the coming year.
