A note from the President: October 2009 Review

Welcome to the October review and what a busy couple of months it has been. We were delighted to meet so many new faces at our first regional ISES UK event in Brighton last month. The success of the evening has meant that we’ll now be rolling out further regional networking events to, among others, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. So look out for more details early next year and do get in touch if you’d like to help us host one of these events and expand the ISES network.

One of the key things that ISES strives to achieve at its monthly networking events is to combine creativity with inspiration. We believe this was certainly apparent at our October event, which took place at the Paramount Club. Justin Hughes of Mission Excellence provided the inspiration via his experiences with the Red Arrows that highlighted the importance of team work. The creativity was provided by those fabulous Globe Girls.

Our next event will take place on 19 November at the newly refurbished Grand Connaught Rooms. If you’ve yet to experience one of the new format ISES UK networking events, we strongly urge you to come and discover for yourselves how ISES is developing into an organisation that is right for you. Taking to the stage next month will be Kim Myhre, VP and Managing Director of EMEA for George P Johnson. He will be discussing brand rejuvenation, an important topic for what is still a difficult trading environment.

As the festive seasons is upon us, I would like to urge you all to support the industry’s Say Thank-you at Christmas campaign. The Christmas party is one of the key mainstays of our industry and we have to work together to encourage corporates to give it the priority it deserves.
Finally, there are a raft of opportunities for business connections provided by ISES UK planned for the coming months including an exciting offer from the Search Foundation and a joint venture with Visit London to launch the first in a series of ISES Master-classes. We hope you find all these activities useful to your business and, on behalf of the whole ISES UK board, we look forward to talking with you at one of our upcoming events.
