November 2009 Review: A note from the President

As the end of the year draws ever closer, we appreciate that many of you will be looking forward to the start of a new decade, which we hope will produce prosperity and creativity in abundance. First though, we should shake off those winter blues and raise a glass to an events industry that always pulls together, no matter how tough things have become. For this reason I would personally like to invite you to our Christmas House Party, taking place next week at the beautifully restored Georgian address, 33 Fitzroy Square part of the Venue Collection, a project by Rouge and Amazing Space. |
This Winter warmer will be a chance to explore a decadent London residence and relax over a glass of wine and a mince pie with industry colleagues. To everyone that came to our recent Rejuvenate event at the Grand Connaught Rooms, I hope you found Kim Myhre stimulating and you were able to network more freely with the continued development of our speed networking sessions. We all know someone that would benefit from becoming an ISES member so do please contact our wonderful ISES Manager Stephanie Laing for more details. This offer will last until the end of January. This is a great time to engage with ISES as we have some fantastic opportunities for members planned for the coming year. Upcoming events include a comprehensive assessment of a ‘Decade of Sport’ by leading industry lights and a chance for members to exclusively showcase their products and services to hosted buyers attending February’s International Confex. On the first night of International Confex (23 February), we will be bringing together Visit London Partners, Confex Hosted Buyers, invited VIPs and ISES members for an evening of networking in an environment where ISES members can reserve stand space and showcase their offer. Whilst on the website, be sure to check out Mike’s Blog, written by our VP Communications Mike Fletcher. His latest post paints the Noughties as a decade to be done with and we’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you agree. That just leaves me to say that I hope you’re finding ISES activities useful for building your network and enhancing your business and do please talk to any of the Board members if there’s anything more we can do.
