Events Sales Executive

Part of the Vinopolis portfolio includes the coveted Events Business, hosting over 300 events per year with a turnover of £6M.  Part of a team of Event Sales Managers & Execs you will be responsible for Events sales managing clients through to delivery.  The events sales team reports directly to the Managing Director who has a wealth of events industry experience. The ideal candidate will be highly driven to sell, take a proactive approach to doing business, be dedicated to their work and the company, willing to learn and able to communicate with people effectively at all levels from high profile client through to operational floor staff. The ideal candidate will be able to seal the deal having presented imaginative events solutions utilising the Vinopolis space to its full potential to meet the needs of the client. As this is a junior entry position, there will be ample opportunity for learning and development under the mentorship of more senior sales managers in the team, as well as the MD himself; though it is also vital that the post holder is confident to work autonomously and with initiative. The post holder will report in to and filter information through to the Events Sales and Business Development Managers respectively.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Sales

• Professional handling of enquiries and bookings, responding to enquiries within the 4 hour deadline.  Emphasis placed on chase procedures and upselling
• Ensure that quoting, invoicing, financial reporting and administration is efficiently carried out
• Arrange site sales visits and familiarisation trips
• Manage bookings to optimise use of the available spaces both during the day and evening, working closely with colleagues in achieving this.
• Liaise with the client from booking to delivery, working with the operational events manager on the day of the event to ensure client satisfaction
• Timely reporting of sales information as directed by more senior sales managers in the team and the MD
• Develop knowledge across all products to ensure clients’ objectives are exceeded
• Manage the Events Perfect Diary system according to the sales procedures recording all event details including financials as well as the contact database
• Produce on a daily, weekly and monthly basis your sales activity under the guidance of more senior colleagues
• Contribute to events team briefings and development meetings
• Assistance at promotional evenings, events and exhibitions as required

Account Management

• Develop and implement sales strategies for individual accounts, in line with the overall sales & marketing strategy under the guidance of more senior colleagues
• Grow existing accounts to maximise revenue potential
• Manage relationships with multiple contacts in assigned market accounts
• Maintain records of account activity

Other duties
• Ensure that all events activities are operated smoothly and take into account the needs of other business areas on the Vinopolis site

Academic Qualifications

Essential: Hospitality Management degree qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable: Event management qualifications


Essential: MS Office proficiency
