Senior Event Planning Manager – Ford Events Team

Reporting to/working with: Account Director, Business and Special Projects Director, Account Director, Senior Project managers, Account Executives and event planners
       
Overview:
The Ford Event Team project manage and deliver live and experiential events for Ford of Britain and Ford of Europe Marketing and Public Affairs.

The range of work includes: drive events, hospitality and incentives, conferences, media presentations, news conferences and sponsorship events. The team operate across the UK, Europe and at times further afield.

We are a high-output department with individuals managing a range of projects at a time.  We would require any candidate to display a proven track-record in events with a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior role.

Previous Experience:
A successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:

  • managing corporate events in the UK and abroad
  • financial control/management of event-related budgets
  • management of internal specialist teams on project delivery including creative and production management
  • producing complex scheduling / itineraries documentation
  • understanding of delegate management systems (print and web-based)
  • overall 3rd party supplier management (ie. promotional staff, DMC’s , venue contracts)
  • a knowledge of the events industry (hotels, venues, caterers, entertainers etc)
  • ability to produce and present client presentations and proposals
  • ability to refine & improve departmental processes
  • an understanding of the Automotive industry, particularly Launches, Drive vents,
  • Incentive travel and Sponsorship events would be beneficial


Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for this role is to support the Ford Events Team delivering events with logistical activity. The candidate will take lead responsibility on projects but will also collaborate with other team members to deliver larger complex projects. The role will be client facing and will include maintaining and building client relationships to secure new opportunities.

  • Ability to interpret client requirements in order to formalise internal briefing materials / documentation
  • Undertake relevant research to provide contextual background thinking, and offer depth of knowledge to make event solutions relevant, interesting and vibrant.
  • Take responsibility for various aspects of the assigned projects and manage the through each project phase to delivery.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships to further enhance commercial opportunities – liaise directly / collaborate with clients and be responsive to their needs. ?Manage all aspects of assigned project execution including supplier and 3rd party management keeping within established budgets and timeframe
  • Financial control and management – including revenue forecasting, internal time recovery and production of project budgets.?Be business savvy and sensitive to the breadth and diversity of business challenges (including time management).
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions that have the potential to generate additional commercial opportunities and which help capture new business.


Other:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel and ppt
  • Ideally - Fluency in 2 or more European Languages
